Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is a mix of old-world charm reflecting the iconic Carnforth station from the 1940s with modern and comfortable rooms. The lack of an opening window was a downside for us, but overall, it was an excellent stay.
I absolutely loved my stay at the hotel! The rooms were spacious, modern, and very clean with a lovely bathroom. Being situated next to the pub for breakfast was so convenient, although the downside was the noise from the busy road side. The staff were a mixed bag, but overall very friendly and accommodating. They were a bit overattentive, and the food was average, especially the scampi and chips which seemed more geared towards older patrons. The location was ideal for exploring Carnforth and Capernwray dive center, right near the bustling Carnforth Station with a great atmosphere and excellent ale. It was also perfect for our road trip from the south coast to Scotland, just a couple of miles from the motorway.
Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by the clean and tidy rooms which had newly installed bathrooms and coffee facilities, making the space both pleasant and spacious. However, the lounge bar closed just after my check-in, which was a bit disappointing. The hotel staff were really lovely and welcoming, but I did experience some issues with the billing, as there seemed to be a mix-up with charges.
